The sixth season of 1Magic's acclaimed telenovela, The River, returns with its riveting narrative set amidst the clash of two worlds: the affluent, who will stop at nothing to preserve their wealth, and the less fortunate, who struggle despite their hard work.

While bidding farewell to three original cast members—Hlomla Dandala, Lawrence Maleka, and Tango Ncetezo—the series welcomes the arrival of Siyabonga Thwala, a three-time SAFTA-winner known for his roles in Isibaya, The Republic, and eHostela. Thwala portrays Bangizwe Zwane, a street-smart childhood friend of Lindiwe's, who proves to be as ruthless as she is, yet demonstrates a greater level of patience and strategy.
