Actor, poet, and singer Masoja Josiah Msiza comes from South Africa. His role as "Nkunzi Mhlongo" in the acclaimed telenovela Uzalo is what made him most famous.

In the Gauteng province of South Africa, in the township of Kwa-Thema, Msiza was born. He loved taking part in art and drama workshops, and at nine years old, he developed a passion for performing.

When he was fourteen years old, he took part in and won a school theater competition. He worked as a miner after graduating from high school and was ultimately let go along with other striking miners. He chose to follow his goal of becoming an actor after being fired, and Gibson Kente directed the play "Mfowethu," which served as his debut performance.

Msiza started off as a poet before becoming a musician, storyteller, stage and television performer, and actress. Among the well-known movies in which he has acted are A Million Colors and Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu. But his most well-known part is as the vicious crime boss Nkunzebomvu "Nkunzi" Mhlongo on Uzalo, the most watched drama in South Africa.

A number of TV shows, including Scandal!, Shreads and Dreams, Rhythm City, Intersexions, Sokhulu & Partners, and Making Cents with the Sitholes, have included him as well. He made his television debut as the lead in the telenovela "Ring of Lies" in 2016.

During the 2004 AFCON tournament in Tunisia, he composed poetry supporting the South African national football team. For Ukhozi FM, the biggest radio station in South Africa, he also composed and delivered promo poems. The inaugural Cothoza Music Awards were presented on June 22, 2019, by Masoja Msiza and Dudu Khoza and were emceed by the multi-award-winning A cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
