Sjava's life story, work, age, education, and biography.


Born on December 2, 1983, Jabulani Hadebe is a South African singer, rapper, and actor who goes by Sjava professionally. In 2005, he made his acting debut in a number of drama series and movies, such as uGugu no Andile (2009). Subsequently, he became well-known for his roles in the three seasons of Isibaya and the second season of eHostela in the drama series Zone 14.


Sjava entered the music business by signing with Ambitiouz Entertainment, a record company. He became well-known after appearing on Miss Pru's critically acclaimed song "Ameni" in 2015.


Isina Muva (2016), Sjava's debut album, debuted his experimental sound, a fusion of hip hop, modern R&B, and afrobeats. 2018 saw the release of his second studio album, Umqhele, to much praise from critics.


Umqhele, who keeps up his fusion sound, expanded his image of African influence and solidified it in other international areas (mostly in Africa). In 2018, Sjava also released Umphako, his debut EP, prior to Umqhele.


After leaving his previous label, Sjava and Ruff co-founded 1020 Cartel and released Umsebenzi (2020), an extended play that received a gold certification in South Africa.

His third studio album, Isibuko (2023), was certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) and debuted at number one.


The son of Thandi Nkabinde, Jabulani Hadebe, was born in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal. He has Hlubi heritage. Sibusiso, his brother, and Sindy, his sister, are Sjava's two elder siblings.


Sjava began composing music at a young age. Sjava was in charge of writing the original lyrics for his all-boy isicathamiya ensemble, Abafana baseMpumalanga, when he was ten years old and in elementary school. In high school, he advanced his musical composition skills by creating songs out of notes and teaching them to his peers.
