EMTEE BIOGRAPHY

Mthembeni Ndevu, widely recognized as Emtee (eMtee), is a prominent South African rapper, hailing from Matatiele but growing up in Rockville, Soweto. His early exposure to talent shows in Soweto set the stage for a career that commenced at the age of 17. Emtee's breakthrough arrived with the release of his debut hit single, "Roll Up," in 2015. Under the banner of Ambitiouz Entertainment, his debut album, "Avery" (2015), achieved commercial success, earning platinum certification from the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA). This album featured chart-toppers like "Roll Up" and "Pearl Thusi."

In 2017, his second studio album, "Manando," paid homage to his late brother, and the subsequent release, "DIY 2," followed in 2018. Following a departure from his former label, Emtee founded his own record label, eMtee Records, in collaboration with the African Trap Movement.

The pinnacle of his career came with his third studio album, "Logan" (2021), which debuted at number 1 in South Africa. The eagerly awaited "DIY3" is slated for release in 2023, marking the third installment of his DIY projects.

EMTEE EARLY LIFE

Born in Polokwane, Limpopo, to Elias and Anna, Emtee navigated challenges in his academic journey, opting for music instead. Before his solo venture, he collaborated with rapper Maraza in 2010 and was part of the rap trio African Trap Movement.

 In his personal life, Emtee shares a relationship with his childhood girlfriend, Nicole, and is a father to two sons, Avery (2015) and Logan (2018).
